Pinnacle Dispos-A-Trap Disposable Plastic Vacuum Traps, 1 1/4" is used for filtering debris from the dental evacuation unit, giving the clinical team a disposable evacuation trap that replaces the existing trap filter. A reusable trap screen has to be pulled out, emptied, cleaned, and returned to the unit, and each of those steps exposes staff to the waste the screen has collected.

When an assistant finishes a restorative procedure and is preparing the operatory for the next patient, this disposable trap eliminates that task by simply being replaced with a fresh one. Each pack contains 144 disposable vacuum traps, each 1 1/4 inches in diameter, white in color, and made of plastic and stainless steel. In a chairside evacuation system, the trap sits in the suction path and catches solid debris such as restorative material, calculus, and cotton before it travels further into the vacuum line. The trap fits A-dec Cascade and Performer evacuation units and is directly interchangeable with A-dec style metal tips, so no syringe conversion is required before use.

Matching the diameter to the trap housing ensures the filter seats properly in the unit. Dispos-A-Trap fits into the existing trap housing of the evacuation unit, where it filters solid debris out of the suction line during routine restorative and hygiene procedures instead of letting it accumulate in a reusable screen. Because the entire trap is discarded after use rather than cleaned, staff avoid direct hand contact with the collected waste, which is one of the more hazardous and unpleasant cleaning tasks in the dental setting.
