Pulpdent Etch-Rite 38% Phosphoric Acid Dental Etching Gel, Standard Kit is used for the acid-etching step of the total-etch and selective-etch adhesive bonding protocol in composite resin restorations, ceramic and porcelain cementation, sealant placement, and bracket bonding procedures requiring phosphoric acid conditioning of enamel, dentin, and glass ionomer cement surfaces, providing the same thixotropic etching gel chemistry as the larger Etch-Rite formats in the smallest standard kit configuration. Each pack contains four 1.2mL syringes and 8 pre-bent applicator tips. Dental offices ordering etching gel from their supplier can buy this Standard Kit for lower-volume practices, an introduction to the Etch-Rite product, or single-patient procedure preparation, since it's the only Etch-Rite format that includes pre-bent applicator tips in the package, providing a complete ready-to-use chairside etch kit without a separate tip purchase.

The pre-bent tips allow the clinician or assistant to direct the gel stream into buccal and lingual line angles of a preparation, under gingival margins, and into the interproximal box floor without requiring direct line-of-sight access, improving etch gel placement accuracy at the preparation margins where etch pattern quality most directly impacts adhesive bond strength. The thixotropic formulation allows the gel to be extruded smoothly through the small-gauge tip under plunger pressure, immediately reassuming its stable gel body after placement to hold its position throughout the 15 to 20 second contact time without flowing onto adjacent tissue. The 38% phosphoric acid concentration provides effective enamel etching at 20 seconds, dentin conditioning at 15 seconds with smear layer removal and tubule opening for hybrid layer formation, and glass ionomer surface preparation at 15 seconds for improved composite-to-GIC bonding, and after the etch time, Etch-Rite rinses completely away with water spray, leaving no gel residue that would interfere with adhesive application.
