Ivoclar Vivadent IPS Empress Direct, Light-Cure, Syringe Refill, 3g, Universal Viscosity, BL-XL Dentin is used for direct anterior and posterior restorations that require a sculptable composite with dentin-oriented opacity, controlled shade reproduction, and light-activated polymerization. The BL-XL Dentin shade is part of the IPS Empress Direct dentin shade range and provides a high-value bleach shade option for layered restorative techniques, and IPS Empress Direct is designed for anterior Classes III and IV, posterior Classes I and II, Class V restorations, correction of tooth position and shape, and direct veneers.
Each pack contains one 3g syringe in BL-XL Dentin shade.
Dental offices ordering light-cure restorative composite from their supplier can buy this dentin shade alongside the enamel, translucent, and other tooth shades within Ivoclar's five translucency levels and 32 total shades, allowing clinicians to combine dentin, enamel, and translucent materials within a layered technique for a single restoration.
IPS Empress Direct uses a sculptable composite formulation engineered to hold its shape during contouring while adapting to cavity walls. The material remains workable before light activation, giving clinicians time to establish internal anatomy, proximal contours, facial form, and other restorative details before polymerization. Its shade system separates dentin, enamel, and translucent options so different optical layers can be reproduced within the restoration, and BL-XL Dentin serves as the dentin substitute in brighter bleach-shade cases, providing the more opaque internal layer used beneath compatible enamel or translucent shades.
The material is also radiopaque, supporting postoperative radiographic assessment of completed restorations across a variety of anterior and posterior direct restorative indications.
