Mark3 VPS Alginate Alternative, Fast Set is used for taking dental impressions for study models, orthodontic diagnostic records, opposing arch models, removable retainer and splint fabrication, simple complete and partial removable denture impressions, and provisional crown and bridge fabrication where the vinyl polysiloxane cartridge delivery system provides a cleaner, more dimensionally stable, and less technique-sensitive alternative to traditional hand-mixed alginate impression material for the clinical applications that have historically been performed with alginate across general dentistry, orthodontics, and removable prosthodontics. The VPS formulation provides superior dimensional stability compared to traditional alginate, maintaining the accuracy of the impression through the time between impression taking and model pouring without the dimensional change and distortion that alginate impressions undergo during the dehydration and rehydration cycles that occur when the impression is exposed to air or wrapped in moist gauze between the clinical appointment and the laboratory pour, giving the clinician and laboratory the flexibility to pour models at a later time without the dimensional accuracy concerns that limit alginate's clinical usefulness for impressions that cannot be poured immediately.
The automix cartridge delivery system eliminates the hand-mixing step required for traditional alginate, removing the technique sensitivity associated with powder and water ratios, mixing bowl preparation, mixing time and technique, and spatulation consistency that influence alginate impression quality when hand mixing is performed under time pressure during the clinical appointment.
The clinician or dental assistant loads the cartridge into the appropriate dispenser, attaches a Pink HP Mix Tip, and dispenses the material directly into the impression tray, eliminating the mixing bowl, spatula, and measuring equipment needed for alginate mixing and reducing the per-impression setup time and cleanup burden compared to the traditional alginate mixing workflow.
The fast set working time of 1 minute and intraoral set time of 1 minute provide the total intraoral dwell time of approximately 2 minutes for the impression procedure, providing the rapid set that minimizes patient discomfort during tray retention and supports efficient appointment scheduling across a busy clinical day. High distortion resistance of the VPS formulation prevents the impression from distorting during tray removal from the mouth, maintaining the accuracy of the impression record through the removal procedure for reliable model fabrication. Mint flavor provides a pleasant intraoral taste experience during the impression procedure.
Dentists, orthodontists, and dental assistants who take study model impressions, orthodontic records, opposing arch impressions, and removable prosthetic impressions across their daily appointment schedule find the Mark3 VPS Alginate Alternative provides the clinical performance of traditional alginate in a cleaner, more dimensionally stable, automix cartridge format that eliminates hand mixing and reduces procedure time.
Practices transitioning from traditional alginate to a VPS alginate alternative find the familiar 1-minute working and set time profile of the Mark3 VPS supports a straightforward transition without changing the clinical impression technique.
Mark3 VPS Alginate Alternative, Fast Set gives dental practices a vinyl polysiloxane alginate alternative in an automix cartridge format that eliminates hand mixing, provides superior dimensional stability and high distortion resistance versus traditional alginate, with 1-minute working and intraoral set times, mint flavor, for study models, orthodontic records, opposing arch impressions, retainers, dentures, and provisional crown and bridge, compares to Alginot, 8 x 50 ml cartridges per box.
