Medicom DentiCare Pro-Polish Prophy Paste Cups, Coarse, Raspberry is used for tooth polishing during routine dental prophylaxis to remove plaque, extrinsic stain, and surface debris from enamel. During a hygiene appointment involving heavier coffee, tobacco, or dietary staining, the coarse grit provides the abrasive action needed for more intensive stain removal while supporting a smooth polished surface.
The raspberry flavor provides a recognizable taste during treatment, while the low-splatter consistency helps maintain control around the working area as the paste is applied with a prophy cup or brush attached to a slow-speed handpiece.
Each pack contains 200 individually portioned unit-dose cups of coarse-grit, raspberry-flavored prophylaxis paste. The formulation contains 2.7% w/w sodium fluoride, equivalent to 1.23% w/w fluoride ion, and uses pumice as the abrasive component for mechanical stain removal. Each cup provides a single-use portion for one prophylaxis procedure, helping limit contact between unused paste and clinical instruments.
The formula is low splatter and easy to rinse from treated tooth surfaces after polishing. It is also free from nuts, gluten, peanuts, soy, corn, eggs, shellfish, and dairy ingredients. The unit-dose format keeps the paste separated until use and supports consistent dispensing during routine prophylaxis.
The paste works through the combined action of coarse pumice particles and rotary polishing from a slow-speed prophy cup or brush.
As the applicator moves across the enamel surface, the abrasive particles help remove plaque, extrinsic discoloration, and adherent surface debris while the paste carrier distributes the material evenly over the treatment area. The coarse grit is suited to areas requiring stronger stain-removal action, while the low-splatter texture helps keep the paste controlled during rotation. Sodium fluoride remains incorporated throughout the formulation, and the raspberry flavor supports patient acceptance during polishing.
The combination of coarse abrasive action, 1.23% fluoride ion concentration, single-use cups, and easy-rinse handling supports efficient professional prophylaxis where focused stain removal is required.
