Tokuyama OMNICHROMA Universal Resin-Based Composite, Light-Cure, PLT Refill, 0.2g is used for direct anterior and posterior restorations that benefit from simplified shade selection and broad color adaptation. The universal one-shade composite is designed to match the A1-D4 range through Smart Chromatic Technology, allowing one restorative shade to blend with surrounding tooth structure across a wide range of cases, and its paste consistency supports sculpting and contouring during direct restorative procedures.
Each pack contains 20 preloaded PLT tips, with 0.2g of composite in each tip for a total of 4g of restorative material.
Dental offices ordering universal composite from their supplier can buy this preloaded tip format as a ready-to-dispense alternative to syringe delivery for practices that prefer individually portioned composite units. The material incorporates uniformly sized 260nm spherical fillers that contribute to its optical behavior, handling, polishability, and mechanical performance, with the universal shade covering the 16 classical A1-D4 shades without requiring separate shade-specific tips.
OMNICHROMA achieves its shade-matching effect through structural color generated by its precisely sized spherical fillers. As light interacts with the filler structure, red-to-yellow wavelengths combine with reflected color from the surrounding dentition, allowing the cured restoration to blend with adjacent tooth structure.
The material appears opaque white before curing, which supports visibility during placement, then develops its final shade-matching effect after polymerization, reducing reliance on added shade pigments while maintaining the handling characteristics of a sculptable universal composite.
