Ivoclar Vivadent OptraSculpt Pad Assortment Kit is used for adapting, shaping, and smoothing uncured composite materials during direct restorative procedures, particularly in the anterior region. The system combines a contouring instrument with flexible foam pad attachments that help clinicians create smooth, anatomically controlled restoration surfaces without leaving unwanted instrument marks, and the non-stick pad design reduces composite adherence during manipulation, supporting cleaner contouring of broad facial and proximal surfaces especially suited to direct veneers and large-surface Class III and Class IV restorations.
Each kit contains one OptraSculpt Pad instrument, sixty 4mm foam pads, and sixty 6mm foam pads, providing 120 pad attachments in total.
Dental offices ordering composite contouring instruments from their supplier can buy this assortment kit for its two pad diameters, allowing clinicians to select a smaller or larger working surface according to restoration size, tooth anatomy, and the area being shaped. The handle also incorporates reference scales for evaluating anterior tooth width and axis alignment during esthetic contouring, giving the instrument a dual role as both a shaping tool and a measurement aid.
OptraSculpt Pad works by placing a flexible foam attachment onto the instrument and using the pad surface to adapt and contour uncured sculptable composite before polymerization. Because the foam has a non-stick surface and high flexibility, it can glide over composite while conforming to the restoration rather than dragging or imprinting the material.
This helps create a more homogeneous surface and may reduce the amount of corrective finishing required after curing. The 4mm pad supports more localized shaping, while the 6mm pad provides broader surface contact for larger facial areas and direct veneer contours, giving clinicians flexibility to match pad size to the specific contouring task within a single restorative procedure without switching instruments.
