Pinnacle Dispos-A-Trap Disposable Plastic Vacuum Traps, 1 7/8" is used for filtering debris from the evacuation unit at the chair, giving the clinical team a disposable evacuation trap that replaces the existing trap filter. In an evacuation unit, the trap catches solid debris such as restorative material and cotton before it reaches the vacuum line, so the filter needs regular attention throughout the clinical day.
When an assistant finishes a restorative procedure and the trap in the unit is full of debris, this disposable trap is removed and replaced with a fresh one, so there is no reusable screen to clean before the next patient is seated.
Each pack contains 144 disposable vacuum traps, each 1 7/8 inches in diameter and made of plastic. Each trap is a totally disposable filter designed to replace the present trap filter in the evacuation unit. This diameter fits Ampco, Belmont, Biotec, Chayes, Dabi-Atlante, Dansereau, DCI, Den-Tal-Ez, Dentech, Forest, Knight, older Pelton & Crane, and Proma units, along with a number of other dental unit models.
Matching the diameter to the unit's trap housing ensures the filter seats properly.
With Dispos-A-Trap, the trap fits into the evacuation unit's existing trap housing and filters solid debris out of the suction line during restorative and hygiene procedures, so material is captured in a trap that is discarded instead of in a screen that must be cleaned. Replacing the entire trap removes one of the most hazardous and unpleasant tasks in the dental setting, which is cleaning infectious waste out of a filter. The totally disposable design improves suction performance by taking a debris-laden filter out of the line, and it saves the staff time that would otherwise go to cleaning filters.
Because the trap is discarded as a whole after use, staff avoid direct hand contact with the collected waste, and the possibility of infection and contamination is reduced, which supports infection control in the operatory.
