Pinnacle Evac-U-Trap Central Vacuum Pump Traps, 2 3/4" x 3 5/8" is used for filtering debris and infectious material from the central vacuum pump, giving the clinical team a totally disposable canister that replaces the existing canister and filter in the pump. When a technician finishes a routine maintenance check and finds the reusable canister filter clogged with debris that would otherwise require manual cleaning, this disposable trap eliminates that task by being replaced as a whole unit.

Reusable canister filters collect debris during every procedure, and cleaning them means handling infectious material. The disposable design is intended to promote asepsis in the evacuation system. Each pack contains 12 disposable central vacuum pump traps, each sized 2 3/4 inches wide by 3 5/8 inches high with internal threading. Every trap arrives as a complete assembly of a canister, lid, mesh filter, and gasket, built from plastic and stainless steel.

This size fits Air Techniques Vacstar models, Apollo 1 to 1.5 hp single and tandem units, Den-Tal-Ez 1 to 2 hp single models, Ohmeda-Matrix models, Techwest Whirl Vac models, Turbine Industries units, and Vacudent Workhorse single units. It also fits Midmark CV3R units, along with a number of other central vacuum pump models. Matching the trap to the pump's thread size ensures the canister seats correctly. Evac-U-Trap screws into place at the central vacuum pump in the position of the existing canister, where the mesh filter and gasket capture solid debris and infectious material drawn through the evacuation system.

The sealed system prevents spills, and because the full assembly is replaced rather than cleaned, staff no longer handle infectious waste on a filter screen. Swapping out a clogged or full canister supports suction performance across the evacuation system and saves the staff time otherwise spent cleaning screens and traps. When the canister is full, the lid is screwed on and the trap is removed and segregated with contact amalgam for recycling.
