Pinnacle Evac-U-Trap Central Vacuum Pump Traps, 3 1/2" x 4 3/8" is used for filtering debris and infectious material from the central vacuum pump, giving the clinical team a totally disposable canister that takes the place of the existing canister and filter in the pump housing. When a technician opens the pump during a scheduled maintenance check and finds the canister filter loaded with debris, this disposable trap simply replaces the entire assembly in one quick step instead of leaving a filter to be cleaned by hand.
Cleaning a reusable filter means handling infectious material, and the disposable design is intended to promote asepsis in the evacuation system.
Each pack contains 8 disposable central vacuum pump traps, each measuring 3 1/2 inches wide by 4 3/8 inches high. Every trap is a complete assembly of a canister, lid, mesh filter, and gasket, built from plastic and stainless steel. This size fits Den-Tal-Ez dual models made after 1978, Dentsply units made after 1991, and Matrix 1000, Matrix 2000, and Drymax units, along with a number of other central vacuum pump models.
Matching the trap to the pump model ensures the canister seats correctly and seals in the housing.
Evac-U-Trap threads into the same position as the existing canister, where its mesh filter and gasket capture solid debris and infectious material drawn through the evacuation system. The mesh filter holds the solids drawn from the line while the gasket seals the lid to the canister. The sealed system prevents spills, and because the whole assembly is replaced rather than cleaned, staff are not required to handle infectious waste trapped on a filter screen.
Removing a clogged canister from the line improves suction performance and saves the staff time otherwise spent cleaning screens and traps. At the end of its use in the pump housing, the lid is screwed on and the full canister is removed and segregated with contact amalgam for recycling.
