Pulpdent Porcelain Etch Gel, 9.6% Hydrofluoric Acid, Syringe Refill is used for the same chairside ceramic surface preparation applications as the Porcelain Etch Gel 4-syringe kit, etching the internal fitting surfaces of ceramic crowns, veneers, inlays, and fractured porcelain surfaces prior to adhesive resin cementation. This refill provides the 9.6% hydrofluoric acid one-minute etch chemistry in a larger 3mL single syringe format for practices that perform ceramic bonding procedures at higher frequency.
Each pack contains one 3mL syringe, yellow color coded for visual identification at the cementation setup station, distinguishing it from other gel syringes in the bonding and cementation tray setup.
Dental offices ordering porcelain etchant from their supplier can buy this larger single-syringe refill instead of the four smaller 1.2mL unit-dose syringes in the kit format, supporting multiple ceramic bonding procedures without syringe changeovers during a busy crown delivery or veneer cementation schedule, though no applicator tips are included and must be sourced separately, or drawn from a kit purchase if the practice stocks both formats.
The 9.6% hydrofluoric acid concentration selectively dissolves the silica-based glass phase in the ceramic microstructure during the one-minute application contact time, creating the micro-retentive surface topography that the silane coupling agent and resin cement penetrate to achieve the micromechanical bond at the ceramic-resin interface. The thixotropic gel formulation maintains stay-in-place behavior, flowing under applicator tip extrusion pressure but immediately reassuming its stable body after placement to hold position throughout the etch period without running or dripping out of the restoration. After the etch time, the gel rinses away completely with water and will not stain the ceramic, composite resin, or resin cement, a critical property for esthetic veneer and all-ceramic crown cases.
