Premier Dental NexTemp Temporary Cement, Standard is used for temporary cementation of crowns and bridges between the preparation appointment and delivery of the final restoration, giving clinicians a non-eugenol temporary resin cement formulated to hold securely while the patient waits for the permanent restoration, then release cleanly at the follow-up visit. When a patient returns for final crown seating and the clinician needs to remove the temporary without residue that could interfere with bonding the final restoration, this eugenol-free formula avoids that complication entirely. Each pack contains 1 automix dual-barrel syringe of temporary cement at 5mL, with 10 mixing tips.

The mixing tips are for single patient use only, and the original cap goes back on the syringe after a used tip is removed. The resin matrix contains fluoride, potassium nitrate, and chlorhexidine, and it is insoluble in an aqueous environment, which supports a tight marginal seal that resists washout. For optional hand mixing, the base and catalyst can be extruded onto a clean glass slab or mixing pad.

The cement can be stored at room temperature without refrigeration. In the NexTemp formulation, the two-stage cure gives about 45 seconds of working time after the mixed cement is extruded, then an initial stage that lets excess cement be removed easily around the margins without disturbing the seal. Final set is determined intraorally, and working and setting times vary with temperature, humidity, and the age and storage conditions of the product. Potassium nitrate acts as a pulp sedative to help reduce sensitivity, chlorhexidine provides an antibacterial effect at the margin, and fluoride helps protect sensitive dentin while guarding against microleakage.

Because the cement is eugenol-free, it does not interfere with the bonding agent or resin cement used to place the final restoration. The cement is noted for lasting color stability and virtually no post-operative sensitivity. Its firm retention lasts until the next scheduled appointment, and its compressive strength is 20 MPa.
