3M (Solventum) RelyX Unicem 2 Self-Adhesive Resin Cement, Automix Syringe Refill, 8.5 g, Translucent, 1/Pk is used for the permanent cementation of metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, ceramic, and composite crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays and of posts, giving clinicians a dual-cure, self-adhesive resin cement in an automix syringe in the translucent shade. When a clinician is cementing a thin ceramic inlay or an all-ceramic crown where the cement should not change the shade of the restoration, the translucent cement is dispensed through the automix tip directly into the restoration, which is then seated and cured.
The cement is translucent.
Each pack contains 1 automix syringe of 8.5 g in the translucent shade, 15 regular mixing tips, 5 wide mixing tips, and 5 endo tips. The cement is dual-cure and self-adhesive. The pack holds the syringe and tips only, so the curing light and the restoration surface treatments are separate items.
The cement is a next-generation self-adhesive formulation with enhancements to bond strength, mechanical properties, and esthetics, and it needs no etching, priming, or bonding on most indications, which saves time.
It is strong and moisture tolerant, it gives virtually no post-operative sensitivity, and its optimal consistency and easy removal of excess make cleanup quick. The dual-cure chemistry gives high adhesion, resistance to discoloration, and long-term stability. The automix syringe gives convenient, flexible dispensing so that the right amount is delivered for each case, and the wide tips suit larger restorations while the endo tips reach into a post space.
The translucent shade lets the shade of the restoration show through, so it suits thin or highly translucent ceramics. The restoration surface is prepared by its material, with ceramic etched with hydrofluoric acid and silane treated and metal sandblasted, and a self-adhesive resin cement bonds to the tooth through acidic monomers, so no separate adhesive step is needed.
