3M (Solventum) RelyX Universal Refill, 3.4 g, Syringe Translucent is used for the cementation of crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers, and posts, giving clinicians a dual-cure universal resin cement in a self-sealing automix syringe that works as a standalone self-adhesive cement and as an adhesive cement when it is combined with a universal adhesive. When a clinician is seating a glass ceramic restoration and wants a translucent cement that lets the shade of the ceramic show, the cement is dispensed through a micro mixing tip into the restoration, which is seated and cured.

The cement is translucent. Each pack contains 1 automix syringe of cement at 3.4 g in the translucent shade, 15 micro mixing tips, and 5 elongation tips for endo use. The cement is dual-cure, which means it can be light cured or allowed to self-cure. The pack holds the syringe and tips only, so the adhesive and the curing light are separate items. The cement is supplied in a self-sealing syringe, so the syringe can be stored without a used tip on it, which keeps it hygienic and cuts the plastic and cement waste, and the micro mixing tip minimizes the cement left inside after each use.

A 3.4 g syringe gives about 15 applications on average. The cement has strong self-adhesive bond strength in both self-cure and light-cure modes, and it bonds even further to all substrates when it is used with a universal adhesive. Excess cement cleans up fast and easily, the color-stable, fluorescent shades give high esthetics, and the cement gives virtually no post-operative sensitivity.

A dual-cure cement sets by light where the light reaches and sets chemically where it does not. The restoration surface is prepared by its material before cementation, with ceramic etched and silane treated and metal sandblasted, and the tooth is treated with or without an adhesive according to the indication.
