Sultan Sporox II Sterilizing and Disinfecting Solution is used for high-level disinfection and chemical sterilization of heat-sensitive dental instruments and equipment that cannot withstand the elevated temperature and pressure conditions of steam autoclave sterilization. The 7.5% hydrogen peroxide-based immersion solution achieves high-level disinfection in 30 minutes at room temperature and full chemical sterilization in 6 hours at room temperature for heat-sensitive handpieces, endoscopes, rubber goods, and other instruments whose material properties are degraded by autoclave processing.
Each pack contains 1 gallon of ready-to-use solution, requiring no mixing, heating, dilution, or activation step before use, eliminating the preparation time and mixing ratio error risk associated with two-part activated chemical sterilants.
Dental offices ordering high-level disinfectants from their supplier can buy this glutaraldehyde-free formulation for its broad-spectrum antimicrobial kill profile, achieving sporicidal, virucidal, tuberculocidal, bactericidal, and fungicidal activity at the appropriate contact times without the occupational hazard risks, noxious odors, and protein-bonding complications associated with glutaraldehyde-based chemical sterilants.
Unlike glutaraldehyde-based sterilants that bond infectious proteins to instrument surfaces during soaking, creating a biological film that becomes harder to remove afterward, the hydrogen peroxide oxidation mechanism in Sporox II oxidizes away dental debris, bioburden, and organic contamination from instrument surfaces during the soaking contact period rather than fixing it to the surface. The solution is reusable for up to 21 days from the date of first opening when its active concentration is monitored using the appropriate Sporox Test Vials to confirm the hydrogen peroxide concentration remains at or above the minimum effective level required for high-level disinfection and sterilization performance throughout the reuse period. This combination of oxidative cleaning action, ready-to-use format, and extended reuse window supports a practical daily workflow for practices reprocessing heat-sensitive instruments that cannot be autoclaved, while the clear, odorless formulation reduces the ventilation and personal protective precautions typically associated with glutaraldehyde-based alternatives.
