Temrex Aidaco Wooden Bite Sticks is used for patient-assisted seating of dental crowns and inlays during the crown delivery and cementation appointment. The patient bites down on the bite stick positioned over the newly cemented crown to apply the occlusal biting force needed to fully seat the restoration without the clinician needing to apply mechanical pressing force with instruments that could risk crown fracture during seating.
Each pack contains 80 sticks, measuring 1/4 inch by 2 inches, made from select pine wood.
Dental offices ordering bite sticks from their supplier can buy this disposable format for its dual-end design, one square flat end and one round tapered end, with the flat end suited to posterior teeth with flat occlusal anatomy and the tapered end useful for confined access positions or localized bite pressure.
The select pine construction provides material firmness that transmits the patient's biting force effectively to the crown surface for complete seating while offering enough resilience to distribute occlusal force more evenly than direct tooth-to-tooth pressure. The dual-end design also supports a secondary use: locating fractured cusps, since having the patient bite on the stick positioned over individual cusps can reproduce cracked cusp syndrome pain at the specific fractured cusp when biting pressure is released, helping identify the fracture location for treatment planning. The stick's non-rolling cross-section keeps it stable in the mouth during use without interfering with a saliva ejector, and the single-use disposable format eliminates cross-contamination concerns between patients.
